Jim is an experienced registered psychotherapist (005481) who has worked successfully with people from a wide range of ethnicities, socio-economic situations, cultural and religious backgrounds. Jim has experience working with individuals, couples and families. Jim believes that every client has the ability to make meaningful changes in their life with the right support.
Jim has earned a master’s in clinical counselling, a BA in psychology and also holds a specialized addiction diploma. Jim also has extensive training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Jim has experienced treating a number of issues including anxiety, phobias, depression, procrastination, grief/loss, infidelity recovery, and a range of addictions including gambling, substance abuse and sex.
Over the years Jim has worked for several organizations including Michael Garron Hospital, The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), Transition House and The Salvation Army. Jim is also a member of the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Ontario Association for Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists.
